What is domiciliary care?

Domiciliary care is support that comes to you. A trained carer visits your home at times that suit you and helps with the things that have become harder, so you can carry on living where you are most comfortable.

It can be a short visit each morning, a few hours of company in the week, or someone living with you around the clock. Your care is planned around your routines, your preferences and the people who matter to you, and it changes when your needs do.

Care at home can mean

  • A morning visit to help you wash, dress and have breakfast
  • Someone to collect prescriptions and remind you about medicines
  • Company for a walk, a coffee or a trip to the shops
  • A break for the family member who usually cares for you
  • Support day and night from a live-in carer

Our care services

Choose one service or combine several. Visits can be as short or as long as you need, and your plan can change at any time.

  • Personal care

Discreet, respectful help with washing, bathing, dressing, continence care and getting ready for the day, always at your own pace.

  • Companionship care

Someone to talk to, share a pot of tea, go for a walk with or help you keep up the hobbies and outings you enjoy.

  • Medication support

Reminders, prompting and help with medicines as agreed in your care plan, plus collecting prescriptions so nothing runs out.

  • Respite care

Short-term care at home that gives family carers time to rest, travel or look after their own health, knowing their loved one is supported.

  • Live-in care

A carer who lives in your home to support you through the day and give reassurance at night, as an alternative to moving into a care home.

  • Dementia care

Patient, consistent support for people living with dementia, built around familiar routines, surroundings and the things that bring comfort.

  • Daily living assistance

Help getting up and going to bed, preparing meals, eating well, doing the shopping and getting to appointments.

  • Home support

Light housework, laundry, changing beds and keeping on top of things, so your home stays comfortable, tidy and safe.

Why choose us?

Good care is personal. These are the commitments we make to every person we support and to their family.

  • Care planned with you

We start by listening. Your care plan is written with you and the people you choose, and reviewed as your needs change.

  • Familiar faces

We aim to introduce you to a small, consistent team of carers, so the people at your door are people you know.

  • Your routines, respected

How you take your tea, when you like to get up, what you would rather do yourself: the small things are part of the plan.

  • Dignity on every visit

Our carers treat your home as your home, and treat you with patience, kindness and respect.

  • Families kept in the loop

With your permission, we keep the people close to you informed, and you will always know who to contact with a question.

  • Local to the North East

Our office is in Newcastle upon Tyne, and our care is for people across the city and the Tyne Valley.

How our care process works

From your first message to your first visit, here is what to expect.

  1. Step 1: Send us an enquiry

Tell us who needs support and what kind of help would make a difference. It only takes a few minutes.

  2. Step 2: We reply by email

A member of our team replies to arrange a time to talk through your situation and answer your questions.

  3. Step 3: We meet and plan together

We visit you at home to understand your needs, routines and wishes, then agree a personalised care plan with you.

  4. Step 4: Your care begins

Your carers start supporting you, and we review your plan with you regularly so it keeps fitting your life.
